We hope you've had a great holiday. Thought we would begin the year with some pics of a few new friends. Do you remember this Vacation Bible School song?
All God's creatures got a place in the choir
Some sing low and some sing higher,
Some sing out loud on a telephone wire,
Some just
clap their hands, or paws, or anything they've got now
So, among
the fun of these first two months has been to notice some of God’s creatures...
There's a seldom-used fishing boat next to us on a mooring ball and it's become the nesting place for a squawking bird family |
These old iguanas hang out in the mangroves by the marina office |
In early November, we noticed a migration of these moths every time we went out for a sail. They flutter around the boats and one day, one of them decided to take a nap on Dave's finger! |
The turtles swimming in open water are amazing to watch! |
Camouflage is one way the fish survive; they're actually to the left of the dark shadow. Unfortunately you can't hide the shadow from the pelicans. |
When you anchor, the fish gather under the boat, hiding from the birds... so do the reef sharks! |
And then there's the choir members along the reefs! |
Finally, we’ve decided that the BVI is a “free range” community, not that that necessarily means any healthier eating. Free range chickens…free range goats.
So, we'll be listening to the music around us. Hope you will, as well. More to follow.
Dave
