mishap
a
moment of carelessness
banged
us into a rocky shoal
as
we departed St. Thomas
leaving
the starboard keel
with
several large gashes
we’ve
damaged the boat
and
our pride a bit
but
I don’t think we’ve damaged
the
adventure
we
may have a few weeks of limbo
staying
onshore
while
the boat’s on the hard
(or
maybe not even that
if
the repairs can be postponed)
but
the boat’s not going to sink
and
we’ll keep sailing
another
season yet
it’s
been a good adventure
and
neither of us is ready
to
let it go

Reading your blog backwards, I am moved to add to your sermon the image of a picture that was on FB of the Donald--and a picture of Christ on the cross--and the caption, "He was a loser. Just sayin'."
ReplyDeleteI must say, we here in Ranchos de Taos are really looking forward to having you back for half the year. We've missed you and have enjoyed your adventures and reflections. We have our own adventures, albeit very different, with changes to our church. And of course, an upcoming primary, and soooo much politics. And we both retire soon. That will be a change. We love you. See you soon??? Julie
